A savoury recipe mix with paprika, garlic and bay leaves for a warming and hearty shepherd’s pie
For this receipe you will need
1 sachet Schwartz Shepherd’s Pie Recipe Mix
450g (1lb) lean lamb mince
1 onion, diced
2 carrots, peeled and diced
200ml (7fl oz) cold water
100g (4oz) peas
675g (1½lb) mashed potato
1. Pre-heat oven to 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6.
2. Brown mince, onions and carrots for 4-5 minutes. Drain excess liquid. Mix sachet contents with water and add to pan with peas. Bring to the boil, stirring and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
3. Transfer to an ovenproof dish and cover with potato. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
4. Serve with steamed green vegetables.
Hints & Tips
Also great with lean beef mince. Why not try adding chopped spring onion and grated cheese to the mashed potato before topping the mince mixture and cooking.
